Gordon W. Theisz, MD
I started the practice Family Medicine in Falls Church PC with the idea of living and working in the same town so that I could provide care for neighbors, friends and townspeople. I have resided in Falls Church City since 2001, but also lived in the region in the 1990's.
I graduated from the University of Virginia School of Medicine in 1998. I completed my residency at Riverside Family Medicine Residency in Newport News, VA, where fellow residents voted me as the recipient of the G. Stanley Mitchell Spirit of Family Practice Award in 2001. I worked for a practice in western Fairfax County for four years prior to starting my own practice. I grew up in Severna Park, Maryland, near Annapolis. At Severna Park High School, I was a marching band member and as a Boy Scout, achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Prior to entering medicine, I attended Old Dominion University
earning a Bachelor of Science, Summa Cum Laude, in Biology. Then, I served in the Navy as a line officer aboard USS Thach (FFG-43) stationed in San Diego, CA and later Yokosuka, Japan. I was awarded two Navy Achievement Medals during my service. After the Navy, I worked for a local technology consulting firm, Technology Catalysts International Corporation, in Falls Church.
I am married to Melissa, and have three children Alex, Delaney, and Ciara. The children attend Falls Church City Schools. I am also a member of Falls Church Presbyterian Church, and I am the Committee Chair for Boy Scout Troop 895 in Falls Church. I am also, along with my wife, very active in local community issues. I am on the
board for the Village Preservation and Improvement Society (VPIS) and the executive committee of the Citizens for a Better City (CBC).
Melissa is a girl scout leader, board member of VPIS, and serves on the Planning Commission for the City of Falls Church.
